Pouzzafest, Montreal's very own punk festival is but two sleeps away- its 5th edition taking place Friday May 15 to Sunday May 17 with over 200 groups participating. Tonight, on a special Pouzza themed edition of Champions of the Local Scene, we will have The Couch Addiction play an acoustic set live in studio! The Couch Addiction is a Montreal ska-core band that formed in 1999 and was active until 2006.

Tonight on a special edition of Champions of the Local Scene, we will be talking to Pouzza Fest Programmer Jonathan Juneau! We will preview this year's Pouzza, and talk 5 years of Montreal's very own punk festival- playing tracks by this year's line-up! Pouzza Fest is taking place May 15-17th, featuring The Dwarves, Municipal Waste, 88 Fingers Louie, Teenage Bottlerocket, The Bruce Lee Band, Knapsack, Drag the River, Koji, Solids, Punchline 13 and more! International star, Fredy Massamba is back in Montreal and is doing a special 1-hour live interview on Beat The World!  From his musical beginnings in Pointe-Noire, Congo touring with "Les Tambours de Brazza", collaborating with Zap Mama, Didier Awadi, Manou Gallo, Bilal, Mos  Def and The Roots to his solo album "Ethnophony" and now "Makasi", Fredy Massamba stays true.  With lyrics that touch our hearts, let his smooth blend of soul, funk, hip hop, and African Chants take us on a journey.
