Michael Haze Brings “Mosh Pit Sad Music” on his MICKEY EP

At only 21 years-old, Michael Haze has already had quite a novel path. He was introduced to music through his church choir at a young age, and learned to play multiple instruments throughout his youth. Haze grew up everywhere, and living in countries across the globe created a rich backdrop for his music. Now based in Montreal, Haze’s debut EP MICKEY is an ode to R&B and an introduction to the artist’s music and life.

Technology sure is something isn't it? Revolutionizing our lives in ways we couldn't even dream possible a scant few years ago. Its praises can't be held in high enough esteem... that is, until it fails and we scream at the sky as to why we relied so heavily on it.

Game Genie Sokolov Finds their True Identity on Trans // Mission

Between synthwave, synthpop, and vaporwave, the music of Montreal artist Game Genie Sokolov changes as they evolve in their search for sound and identity.  On their third and latest album Trans // Mission, Game Genie Sokolov abandons their previous video game aesthetic to show off the full breadth of their talent, with various strains of electronic music permeating throughout the record’s 12 tracks.  For Ambient April, CJLO caught up with the artist about the new album, instrumental music, and getting out of their comfort zone.

After discovering Hero’s Last Rite while doing my research form the Thrash Metal episode of the Iron Club, I was intrigued by the little heavy band from Fredericton, New-Brunswick. JP Bernier : “I’m with Steve McDonald, frontman of Hero’s Last Rite, a band from New-Brunswick. Hi Steve, how are you?”

Interview: Dylarama

Under the name Dylarama, Mathias Pageau writes pop songs made from a collage of disparate styles that nevertheless blend naturally together.  The beginning of 2018 started off with a bang for Dylarama, with the release of his first EP for Lisbon Lux Records, entitled Certified Cutie, and the chance to perform in Paris with label-mates Paupière.  Dylarama kindly took the time to talk with CJLO about the roots of the project, filming a music video in New York City on two iPhones, and the dream of having his own clothing line.

Interview with Soul from Superorganism

Fiona, co-host of Moonstruck on CJLO 1690 AM, recently met with Superorganism member Soul, discussing songwriting, growing success, and more, only a few weeks after the release of their self-titled full-length album.

Since you’re one of the band members that doesn’t really live with the rest of the members in London, how do you find the creative process to work? When writing your songs and what not?
