Olympic-winning horse dies

Hickstead 2006

Canada is down one Olympics-winning horse after it died Sunday. 

His name was Hickstead. He helped Eric Lamaze win in the 2008 Olympics. Hickstead died during a World Cup event when he collapsed to the ground. 

Lamaze says it looked like a heart attack. But the International Equestrian Federation says the cause of death is unknown.

The competition was cut short and there was a minute of silence. Hickstead made over three million dollars during his career.

Shows will take place on the second Wednesday of every month at Burritoville. The show starts at 8pm and will be over by 11pm.

Wanna Learn How To Produce?

Ever hear a pre-recorded radio piece and wonder how its done?

CJLO is pleased to be offering a series of workshops starting in the first week of November. They will happen once a week with a facilitator from CJLO's production team.

Workshops will include:

Intro to Recording:
In this workshop, we'll cover the first principles of studio recording and how to make a recording in Pro Tools. Learn how to approach the studio and general audio recording.

Art vs. Science will be live on Grade A Explosives!

Is your Thursday afternoon in need of a serious injection of dance and general awesomeness? Then tune in this Thursday, October 27th to Grade A Explosives from 4-6PM for a very special episode featuring some fine Australian gents from the band Art Vs. Science. They'll be playing LIVE in studio and doing an interview, and in general causing involuntary foot motions. So tune in and get your weekend started early!

CJLO Nominated for Station of the Year

In one week a large number of CJLO DJs and volunteers will be making their way to New York City for the annual CMJ: Music Marathon. The weeklong event features countless shows, amazing panels and a College Music Award Ceremony. Last year CJLO walked away with Station of the Year along with WKDU. This year CJLO is nominated again for the same honour amongst others.

CJLO is pleased to be bringing you two weeks chock full of events!

First, we're kicking things off with a POP Montreal Co-Presentation of Asobi Seksu on September 21st at Club Lambi. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
