CJLO

Want To Learn How To Use The Production Studio?

We're running some more intro training sessions in the recording studio at CJLO over the month of November, on Tuesdays this time.

There are two different sessions of an hour and a half each.  The first is 'Intro to Recording':  signal flow, different microphones, setting up to record, and basic protools. The second is more advanced, a 'Protools and Multi-track Recording':  recording voice and instruments, doing a basic mix, bouncing down.

Intro to Recording starts Tuesday November 6th at 1.30 and 3.30pm.

Other sessions are as follows:

Samantha "Sam I Am" Hinds on Da Cypha

When she isn't winning waacking dance battles, local songstress Samantha "Sam I Am" Hinds is making music. A powerful, soulful voice that stands out in a crowd, Samantha has been making tracks for sometime now. She recently released three singles on her bandcamp iamsam.bandcamp.com as a teaser for... well tune in on Da Cypha, Tuesday August 14th for what comes next.

De La Montagne on Midnight Love Affair

There's something magical about merging the naive with the lo-fi: both feature in everything we love about pop music. Simple structures, clear hooks, and danceable beats, can undercut the gloss and the pomp that are often mistaken for high production values. Lyon-based Camille Bouvot-Duval, the one-woman show behind De La Montagne, cites Tracy + The Plastics, The Knife and Cansei de Ser Sexy as influences, and it shows. This is brash, coy electro that plays to the sexual politics of the dance floor while subverting them.
