Latest Sessions

Paul, Tim and Loel of Wintersleep visited chateau CJLO February 25, 2005 (Jud was missing somewhere in downtown Montreal). Wanting to do something a little different, the guys decided to do a stripped down session, and recorded the songs with Paul on acoustic guitar, Loel on drums, and Tim on ye ole keyboard.

Little did the guys realize that by passing us their second, and latest, CD, that Wintersleep would spend a long time on the CJLO top 30. Not only that, the actual broadcast of the session ended up being the most listened-to CJLO program ever. We ended up maxing out the streams and were receiving phone calls and emails from...

Hot on the heels of burning up CJLO’s top 10 and in town for Pop Montreal, Vancouver 5-piece You Say Party! We Say Die! stumbled into the CJLO studios October 1, 2005 covered in blood.  Covered in blood?   Damn right.  Well…sorta.  The guys and gals had just got out of a photo shoot (the results can be seen here) and the fake blood proved to be a lot more difficult to get off.  Meh, not really a bad thing. the bloodied-up look is punk.

Not only was the You Say Party! We Say Die! crew traveling with CJLO pal and past SONiCs Session vet, Dani Vachon of Cadeaux (she runs their label Sound Document), buuut it turns out Jason and Stephen are fellow members of the Frodus army.  Frodus, kids…look ‘em up and rejoice.

After performing a stripped down set for the SONiCs show in the winter (a show that broke all CJLO listener records), Haligonians Wintersleep returned to CJLO July 28, 2005, and this time plugged in for a full electric band session.  While last time we got the much requested new track “Home”, this time they gave us TWO brand new songs and an amazing rendition of my personal Wintersleep fave, “Nerves Normal, Breath Normal”.

Man…it was great.

*Wintersleep’s sophomore album was #1 at CJLO for three weeks in 2005.
