The Collective - Panels & Performances

This is CJLO's second event on mental health awareness!

Due to the success of the first event we are back with more performances and a special panel discussion on mental health. Join us August 15th, 8pm at Le Divan Orange as we create space for people of all abilities to express their experiences with and engage with others about mental health.

Let's erase stigma through education and visibility. 

Performers include: Selena Mae, HYRE, Maria Em, Everest Chomolungma, Lucas Charlie Rose, Darcy Valentine Stack, Heather Eaton, The Collective, and more!


Audio Documentaries: Bicycles Against Poverty & Finding Diana

Tune into CJLO 1690AM this Thursday, July 27th at 11 AM to hear two audio documentaries produced by Travis Sandeson, who is working as a communications director for CEED Concordia this summer.

CEED is a non-profit organization based in both Montreal and Gulu, Uganda, which views youth as the change agents in their communities.

Folk Fest sur le Canal - Support the Fest!

Montreal's Folk Fest sur le Canal celebrates this year its tenth anniversary! Running from June 14 to June 18, the fest will feature various folk, roots, and bluegrass acts, spread out over the five days of festivities along the Lachine Canal. The main shows are held during the weekend, with various programming on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.


FELP / CHIENVOLER - Live From The Oven

The Oven @ CJLO 1690AM has been running hot lately! Our audio engineer Patrick McDowall has been busy at work recording live sessions for a huge number of bands passing through the station.

TUNE IN: Torn Petals on Waves of Honey

Torn Petals is the newest project by Montreal artist Didier Iglesias, who beforehand was in the electronic band Lackov Datus and worked on visual arts performing live projections and video editing for artists like Robert Robert

Influenced by the likes of Aphex Twin, James Holden, Actress, and Jon Hopkins, the cinematic soundscape of Torn Petals is defined by his experimental IDM souds as well as his dancy downtempo beats echoing the 90’s electronic scene. Gritty and sometimes discomforting, his latest EP nomore# will keep his listeners on their toes.


Exit Someone // In-Studio Performance - March 28th

Tune into Ashes to Ashes Tuesday, March 28th at 1pm to hear a live in-studio performance and interview with Montreal’s own Exit Someone!  The husband-and-wife duo of June Moon (Forever) and Thom Gillies (Vesuvio Solo) released their debut EP Dry Your Eyes at the beginning of the year on Atelier Ciseaux Records.


Audio Penpals @ Zugathon Fundraiser

On March 25th, from 2 to 5 p.m., Concordia's Centre for the Arts in Human Development will be hosting a Zumba + Yoga fundraiser: Zugathon. Proceeds will go to funding the centre's range of programs that use the creative arts therapies to help facilitate social skills, build self-esteem and improve functioning for people with developmental disabilities. Happy International Women's Day! In celebration, we've curated special programming to air throughout the day.

CJLO stands in solidarity with all women, including trans and gender nonconforming people, who face heightened levels of discrimination, social oppression, and political targeting.


TONIGHT: David Lines of A Devil's Din on Brave New Jams

Brave New Jams is proud to announce that David Lines of Montreal psych band A Devil’s Din will be joining host Clifton Hanger in the CJLO studio, Saturday, March 4 at 10 p.m. Back from their critically acclaimed tour of the United Kingdom, the band is back in the studio working on their third album. A Devils Din is propelled by lead singer David Lines, Thomas Chollet on bass, and Dom Salameh on drums.  


Gene King / Great House Music / Tonight 2-4am

Yes you heard right, the Godfather of House Music himself, Gene King, will be live in CJLO studio's this Saturday, Feb 18th, 2-4am (Friday night for some)

Growing up in Montreal in the 70s and 80s, Gene King was well surrounded by music. He had an interest in playing instruments at the age of 13 but quickly discovered his passion for djing there after, playing high school dances and roller skating rinks.
