Battle of The Jokers on #GeektastiqCypha

If you've played F*ck/Marry/Kill then Drain/Team-Up/Defeat this will make sense to you!

Essentially you are Draining the essence of one character (whether that be powers, personality, strengths and weaknesses), Teaming Up with another (hello life partner) and defeating the last (bye boy bye).

From Barn Burner to Dead Quiet

A third week and a fourth interview on Grade A Explosives this Sunday.

Andrew managed to sit down with Kevin from Dead Quiet and former Barn Burner lead singer before their show at Turbo Haus on August 20th with Anciients. All this and loud things to make your ears hurt on Sunday from 4 - 6PM.

Ancient Future Festival 2017

Ancient Future Festival is situated at a woodland spot by the water at the old port. Once a year in September this festival transforms the spot into a little utopian world which is a hub for electronic music, visual arts, and circus arts all with a fantastic view of the St-Laurent river and Quai de l'Horloge. The outdoor venue has a couple of stages with masses of people dancing amongst the trees surrounded by hammocks, local vendors, and fire dancing circus acts. However once the sun has fully set, the final venue opens up at the immense warehouse next door with a gigantic sounsystem and trippy visuals to enable the festival goers to rave all night long.

An Interview Laden Grade A Explosives

This Sunday, September 3rd, on an interview laden Grade A Explosives, Andrew talks with Guelph, Ontario progressive death metal band Becomes Astral who recently released their record "Paleblood Sky". They'll talk about metal today, touring in Canada, and writing songs about Bloodbourne.

Concert Review: Guns N’ Roses

The theme of the current Guns N' Roses tour is “Not in This Life-Time”: no one, not even the band members themselves, thought they would reunite. Millions of fans wanted to see the group back together again, but it seemed there was "nothing left to do, too many things were said”, to quote another famous rock band. So, when it was announced in 2016 that they would be playing The Troubadour, Coachella and proceeding on a worldwide tour, I was beyond excited for the prospect of a live performance. The question remained, however, whether they would make a stop in Montreal, after the infamous 1992 riots, where the Olympic Stadium was trashed by angry fans following shortened sets.

Festival 77 Montreal in Pictures

Celebrating forty years of punk music, Festival 77 Montreal slammed into Parc Jean-Drapeau. The weather was perfect, the festival site with two stages, a record fair, poster exhibition and movie house was a busy place.

The city of Montreal was well represented by The Pale Lips, which got the festival started, hardcore punk band Genetic ControlThe Kingpins and powerhouse Barrasso. The Creepshow also brought their unique brand of psychobilly to the festival.

Pitchfork Festival 2017: A Review

Festivals can be a truly polarizing experience. On one hand, there are a lot of unknown variables that can lend themselves to a bad time. Not so friendly weather, band cancellations, poor planning, and endless lines at food stands and bathrooms. On the other hand, there’s nothing quite like watching your favourite artists in the great outdoors, the freedom to be as much (or as little) part of the action as you like, and just the feeling of warm air and summer vibes that connect you with the rest of the attendees in a way you just don’t get inside a closed venue. While Pitchfork Festival has a history of strong line-ups and excellent organization, I still wasn’t sure what to expect, it being my first time attending.
