Omhouse Live @ CJLO

Toronto-based Omhouse has been described as "high-tension music for insomniacs" and "an over-caffeinated Dirty Projectors". Their music oscillates between cathartic, guitar based rock and adventurous, sample-based electronic music. They recently returned from their first cross-Canada tour, and are preparing to release their debut full-length album Flesh to Flesh, Skull to Skull.

Kurvi Tasch Live @ CJLO

The awesome Montreal jangle pop/post-punk band Kurvi Tasch came into CJLO this summer to preview some tracks off of their debut record, On Firm Ground, which just came late August. The band performed the tracks live on the show Under The Influence.

Kurvi Tasch are a three piece who write really tight songs with beautiful meandering melodies. We highly recommend getting a copy of their debut record, which is now officially out.

Dog Fashion Disco - Sweet Nothings (Rotten 2014)

Sweet Nothings is the seventh studio album from the freshly-reunited Maryland metal maestros, Dog Fashion Disco.

If the movie Three Men and a Baby starred George Clinton, Al Jourgensen, and Mike Patton instead of Guttenberg, Selleck, and Danson—that baby would have grown up to become Sweet Nothings. But that doesn't even begin to explain how eclectic this album is. A full detailed description of the audible influences would take much more than the few hundred words I've been allotted, so I'll try to sum it up like this:

Saxsyndrum Live @ CJLO

Experimental duo Saxsyndrum – consisting of Nick Schofield on drums and Dave Switch on sax, plus other electronic goodies – came into The Oven at CJLO one summer day in July to play some of their jams live on the Under The Influence show.

Season Finale of Shibuya Crossing this Wednesday, August 20th!

Summer is about to end, and so goes our weekly adventure through the crossroads of Japanese rock music for this year.

Join Saturn De Los Angeles as we look back at the exciting year that was in Japanese music. We annotate that retrospective journey with an interesting mix of Visual Kei ballads, plus music with some up-and-coming J-Music influenced bands from here in Canada.

And lastly, we say goodbye - for the time being - as we commemorate Episode number 040 with your dedications, shout-outs and other random notes, as we wrap up amazing journey, and say thanks to you for listening to this show every week, from all over the world.
