The Greenery Live @ CJLO

I can’t put my finger on why I like Long Beach, California’s The Greenery, so much. Sure they are a hardcore band, with exactly what you would expect from a hardcore band. They have the crushing rhythm, the breakdowns, the razorblade vocals, and the “I don’t give a damn attitude.” But they are somehow different.

The Greenery somehow take a bunch of different influences and combine it into the skate thrash hardcore that can only be described as their sound. Sometimes those influences aren’t even audible, but they exist in a brief plight of desperation, either musically or lyrically.  There is just a feeling to their music that you have to listen to in order to understand the nuances.

I can’t put my finger on why they are so good, but damn it… they are good.
