Hundreds of citizens gathered to march against rape culture in Montreal, Quebec City, Saguenay, Sherbrooke and Gatineau on Wednesday.
According to CTV News, the protests were prompted by recent break-ins and sexual assaults at Laval University as well as recent accusations of sexual assault against Member of the National Assembly Gerry Sklavounos.
The march in Montreal was held at Place Émilie-Gamelin and ended with a concert at Club Soda.

Ontario Provincial Police sent text messages to about 7,500 people in an attempt to solve the murder of Frederick “John” Hatch.
According to BBC News, the police are asking recipients to answer an online questionnaire that could provide new evidence and witnesses.
The people who received text messages were near the crime site in Nepean, Ontario the night of Hatch’s death in December of 2015.

Several countries have reached a historic agreement on the fate of Antarctica to create the world’s largest protected marine area.
According to CTV News, 25 countries and the European union have decided to protect an area in the Ross Sea about twice the size of Texas.
This agreement is the result of several years of disagreements and high-level talks between Russia and the United States.
