Tune into The Limelight tonight- 6-8pm, when Nomadic Massive members Lou Piensa and Butta Beats will be in studio with young MCs Shad Enar, Fili Al and neo-soul singer Rayana Speede. Lou and Butta Beats run an after-school & lunch program at James Lyng High School which focuses on Hip Hop culture for youth. Over the years, the program has grown to a full professional studio inside the school and they have facilitated co-teacherships in Music, Science, and French.
This past summer included a six-week residency which was open to young Montreal artists aged 15-21. Three artists were selected (Shad Enar, Fili Al and Rayana Speede) and they each had the chance to complete a four track EP produced by Lou Piensa and Butta Beats. These EPs will be launched during the Hip Hop You Don’t Stop Festival (An urban arts festival running in NDG & CDN neighborhoods Sept 21-25th). The launch will take place on Sept 23rd at Centre d’Essai de l’Université de Montréal (2332, boul. Édouard-Montpetit 6e étage) and today is your chance to hear these artists for the first time on The Limelight! They will be in studio for an interview and EP preview, reminding us all why we love Hip Hop! Tune in TONIGHT- to CJLO’s longest running Hip Hop show, The Limelight, with J-Nice and Lady Oracle, Saturdays 6-8pm!
