Top 10 Films of 2017

The new year has just begun, and so I am planning a schedule of films to watch and re-watch in the new year. 2017 was packed with a wide range of films, from pulse-quickening horror to comedies with poignant social critiques. Christopher Nolan proved with his film Dunkirk that a natural filmic quality is still possible in a big budget film. At the other end of the spectrum, you can create a rich magical CGI experience as Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049 went on to prove.  It and Happy Death Day were solid horror films, and payed homage to the classics. Jordan Peele and Darren Aronofsky challenged movie goers with their brand of horror in Get Out and Mother!Yorgos Lanthimos created a thriller of Kubrick proportions with The Killing Of Sacred Deer. With the award season on it's way and a bunch of movies to get to in theatre, here is a Top Ten, of the year 2017 in film.
