Montreal police are investigating the violent murder of an ostrich.

According to CTV News, Nicholas Charbonneau’s beloved ostrich was stabbed to death in Saint-Eustache.

Local activists are offering a $2000 reward for information leading to the ostrich killer’s arrest.

The Montreal SPCA will challenge the city’s new Animal Control Bylaw in court on Monday.

CTV News wrote the new bylaw will ban pitbull adoptions in Montreal, make it mandatory for pitbulls to wear muzzles in public and force all pet owners to register their animals or risk receiving fines.

The Montreal SPCA aims to have this bylaw suspended as soon as possible.

The Canadian population has reached an all time record of 36,286,425 citizens.

CBC News reported that the recent arrival of immigrants and refugees brought more than 430 000 new people into the country since 2015.

This is the largest annual population surge Canada has experienced since 1988.

According to Reuters, President Rodrigo Duterte claimed that he would happily “slaughter” three million suspected drug dealers and users.

More than 3000 people have been killed by the police and vigilantes since Duterte took office on June 30th.
