This is the first in a series of photo essays that take a look back at some of the highlights from the year 2014. Kicking off the series is Montreal's own Seb Black at Casa del Popolo on March 20th.
It was the first night of spring when the band took the stage to showcase their album, On Emery Street. The plateau club was packed with an enthusiastic crowd that thoroughly enjoyed their walk down Emery Street. Eddie Paul, the lead guitarist of the band, got the night started with some original numbers with Seb Black in the background adding some drums and backing vocals. The second half of the concert saw Seb Black growling out the lead vocals like Tom Waits on steroids and Eddie Paul took his usual spot on lead guitar. Seb Black and friends brought the heat back after a long cold winter, and that proved to be a great way to bring in the new season.

One of many blistering solos provided by Mr. Paul
Rocking the tambourine
In the zone, with Seb Black on drums
Is that Seb Black or Popeye?
Whole lot of movin' going on

"Ya, I'm talking to you", Seb Black can be a little intense
Intense - adjective (of a condition, quality, feeling, etc.) existing in a high degree; forceful or extreme
And all good things must come to an end, even on Emery Street
