Champions of the Local Scene: APigeon live & Indie Montreal: Wed 5pm to 7pm

CJLO is pleased to have APigeon & Indie Montreal on a special episode of Champions of the Local Scene, Wed June 3: 5 to 7pm! APigeon is a Montreal based electronic producer, composer and vocalist who is becoming known for both the melodic and poetic sensibilities of her music. You can catch APigeon June 6 at Divan Orange as part of Indie Montreal's Fringe Music Series in the Montreal Fringe Festival. On June 3rd's Champs episode, APigeon will perform tracks live in CJLO's Oven Studio and take listeners on a heartfelt journey. Joana Cumo of Je Suis TBA will interview APigeon about her process and what's coming up next! Speaking of Indie Montreal, we will have Founding Director Jon Weisz in studio at 5pm to talk about their 2015 Fringe Music series and play some tracks from the bands programmed this year. We Are Wolves

Elephant Stone

Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band are looking for new members! Indeed, much like the famous Beatles’ album, the Montreal band Elephant Stones is known for incorporating sounds from Indian traditional music repertoire into a bed of rock and pop à la 60’s.

Similar to a cake, Mozart’s sister song’s structure are based on the stacking of rhythmic melodies. Layering velvety textured sounds, her voice act like a thread, gluing melodies much like sweet molasses would. Expect a mixture of R&B, Funk, Dark Electronic flavours with a sprinkle of Pop. Each bite is a pure explosion of DIY electronic.

Synth quintet of psychedelia, rock and disco, Choses Sauvages are sure to blow your mind en franglais s.v.p. Their set, mixing songs in English, French and sometimes both at the same time, is an accurate representation of their Montreal particular sensibility.
