After the exceptional Sound of Metal from director Darius Marder, Mogul Mowgli seems as if it can follow the same path to be one of the best films of the year - with another great performance from Riz Ahmed. From director Bassam Tariq, his first feature Mogul Mowgli is about a British Pakistani rapper (Riz Ahmed) who is about to embark on a world tour, but is struck down with a serious illness that puts his tour on hold. During this time he must come to terms with his past, family, and the uncertainty of his legacy.
Stay tuned for a review of the film in a future episode of At The Movies on Sept. 28 when the At The Movies Returns to the Movies segment airs around 8:15AM (EST).
Mogul Mowgli is currently out in select theatres where open. Check out your local theatre to see if they are currently showing the film to help support the industry during this time of need.
Remi and Danny host At The Movies, which can be heard every Tuesday morning from 8:00 - 9:00AM. Tune in for discussions about movies, soundtracks, and iconic film scores. At The Movies also covers film festivals that are located in Montreal.
