Man I'm excited to get started! Let me introduce myself here and get you familiar with what the show's gonna be all about, and make sure to tune in here on Wednesday, from 3 - 4 PM!
My name's Joel Abrahams, aka Emaciate Beats, and I'm a first-year, 18-year-old Journalism student from San Francisco, here at Concordia University. I decided to start an electronic music show because it's the perfect blend between working on something towards a career (Journalism) and doing something I love (DJ'ing/Going crazy to music in general). The show features the very best of Dubstep, Electro, Progressive House, Moombahton, Drum and Bass and more.
However, have no fear, for I am no snobby music elitist! You can send in relevant requests (as in something that fits the show) send in a comment, or just drop a line and tell me what's up by tweeting @TheDMDShow, writing on the wall of the show's Facebook page, or Emailing me at TheDMDShow@gmail.com.
The latter half of the show is called Emaciate's Artist Of The Week, and will be featuring some of my favourite producers that to me, are underplayed like crazy. The segment begins with a short interview with the artist before getting into a set of some of their best tracks. So to kick off The Death Metal Disco Show, I'm crazy excited to announce the first guest:
BILLY BLACKLIGHT

This Minnesotan-born, San Francisco-based (Bay Area whaddup!) producer became my favourite artist of 2011 when I first checked out his SoundCloud page. His crunk-laced beats, one-of-a-kind bass and unique rythms are what I set the standards of this show on; Truely original artists who can be instantly recognized from the sound of their music. This is definitely someone you don't wanna miss people,"like" his Facebook page here!
I've also included a nice little mashup I made a while ago, of Billy Blacklight's "Elven Identity" and Birdman and Lil' Wayne's "Shyne On" cleverly titled "Shiny Elves," available for a free download on my SoundCloud page. If you want to listen to and download more of my mixes, remixes and mashups, head over to my BandCamp or Facebook pages. Check back in every week for another new blog post, and another freebie download!
Lastly, I want to thank Doc Holidae of Phantastiq Cypha and J-Nice and Lady Oracle of The Limelight here at CJLO for helping me with training and showin' me the ropes. Thanks for getting me ready guys!
