The STM has vowed to increase metro and bus service during busy weekday hours.
 
The changes were unveiled as part of the STM $1.5 billion annual budget.

A fire roared through one of Iqaluit's two grocery stores this week, forcing many to evacuate their homes and possible food shortages to come.
 
Iqaluit Mayor Madeleine Redfern told the Weather Network that most of the city's non-perishables are likely destroyed.
 
Northmart, the affected supermarket, says they will continue to fly in food to feed the community and will not raise prices.

Approximately 80 kidnapped children have been released in Cameroon this week. 
 
Officials blame Anglophone separatists for the kidnappings, a separatist spokesperson has denied involvement.
 
A driver and a teacher remain with kidnappers.
